Worst experience ever!!I was meant to fly out from Sydney at 6:30 am this morning (060517) on flight no. FJ 914 to Nadi, we boarded the plane as per normal time, but the plane had mechanical issues and for almost 2 hours the passengers were left sitting in the plane and the flight attendants didn't even check on the passenger's.People with young children and other passenger's had to go and individually ask for water.Once the passengers finally departed the plane we were given 15 food vouchers to use in airport and no other instructions were given to us by Fiji Airways staff.Passengers were finally summoned to gate 26 around 11am and we were told that the engineers are waiting on parts to arrive from Brisbane and the flight will be rescheduled for 8:30 pm tonight once the plane has been repaired. We have been given the following options:1. Stay at the airport, we will be given another food voucher and wait for the flight tonight.2. Checkout of the airport and then check back in this afternoon for the flight tonight3. Get our tickets refunded and the passengers can book new flights. When passengers started asking questions, we were told by Fiji Airways staff to call Customer Service on 1800230150 as the ground staff could not give us anymore information.Majority of the passengers have chosen to wait at the airport for the flight tonight as hotels .... etc have already been prebooked. At this stage, we estimate the flight will land at Nadi International airport around 2:30 am local time and the passengers will be given hotels rooms to rest until 9 am in the morning, after this point we are no longer the responsibility of Fiji Airways, unless passengers had connecting flights.Passengers have been up since 3am this morning Syd time (and even earlier) for the 6:30 am flight. It wold have been good customer service by Fiji Airway's if they offered the passengers half day hotel accommodation in Sydney to rest and freshen up prior to the flight tonight. If the flight leaves at 8:30 pm tonight, then the passengers would have been at the airport for over 14 hrs.Last financial year, Fiji Airways made 60 million dollars in profits by charging their customers premium ticket prices, yet they treat their customers worse than the budget airlines! https:www.fijiairways.comaboutfijiairways2015mediacentrefijiairwaysgroupannounceshighesteveroperatingprofitsof608mGreat Work Fiji Airways .... Please continue providing this WONDERFUL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE !!!

I bought our tickets (family of 5) back in march 15 and were meant to fly to Fiji from the UK in July and back in August.Everything was fine on our way home. Only on our way back, we were told at Nadi airport that there were no seats available for us even though our flight was confirmed back in march. What kind of airline does that to their customers, giving their seats away even though it's already been paid for. We had to wait for another 2 days to catch the next flight back to the UK and instead of the normal 20 hr flight we paid for (London-Fiji via Hong Kong), we had a 30 hr flight this time (Fiji-Sydney-Dubai-London) and bear in mind, we were travelling with our 11 months old daughter so myself and the mum had to take turns carrying her as she can't stand the long journey back to the UK.

I wouldn't recommend Fiji Airways to anyone. They keep a very small fleet of planes, which means that if something goes wrong with one flight, numerous subsequent flights are often affected sometimes very significantly (as my experience below illustrates). While this is to some extent understandable, as a traveller it is simply not worth the risk, particularly if you have connections to catch or are on a tight schedule. The problem of a small fleet is compounded substantially by the fact that (a) things go wrong for entirely unavoidable reasons relating to the airline's own practices rather than anything uncontrollable, and (b) when things do go wrong, there are no processes in place to ensure that affected travellers are kept informed of anything relating to their travel plans. While some individual staff seem to be caring and sincere in their efforts to help, their capacity to do so is often very limited because ground staff appear to be kept as much in the dark as passengers. We were due to fly out of Suva to Sydney with Fiji Airways at 11.15am. At 10am we were informed that because the previous flight from Auckland to Suva was late, our flight would be pushed back. We were told that the flight from Auckland had already left, and that it would land at 1.30pm, with boarding at 2pm. 2pm came and there was no boarding call and no update. When we enquired staff at Suva said that the flight would land at 3.15pm, and that we should stay in Nausori airport (which has one sad cafe, no stores or services, and pretty much resembles a bus stop). The estimated landing time for the Auckland flight was subsequently pushed back several times in 30 minute increments. In each instance, an announcement was only made when the previous estimated landing time had passed. As the flight time from Auckland to Suva is only just over 3 hours, it seemed impossible that the plane could have been en route from Auckland from 10am, but somehow delayed en route for in excess of 6 hours. At 5pm we were all sent through immigration and made to wait at the boarding gate, where we were abandoned by Fiji Airways staff for 2 hours. After this they appeared to say that the plane had landed in Nadi because of 'baggage issues', that they had been told it would leave Nadi in 15 minutes, and that it wasn't their fault. They then abandoned us again. Passengers on the phone to passengers in Nadi said that the plane was stalled there because Fiji Airways was asking for volunteers to be unloaded, with no takers. We were left at the departure gate for 12 hours with no airline staff physically present, and the occasional PA update specifying an estimated time for our flight despite the plane not having left Nadi. The toilets ran out of paper and became blocked. At 8.30 pm we were told the flight was cancelled, and were sent back through immigration. We were then told that we'd been placed on a flight at 6.15am from Suva to Nadi but that because it was overbooked we might not get on. This flight would connect to a 9.20am flight from Nadi to Sydney which did not appear on their website. They were unable to provide us with any written confirmation of either booking. Thankfully these new flights did work, but at Nadi they announced that they needed 20 volunteers to leave the flight to accommodate the passengers from our flight, so even more people were affected. Ridiculous. Avoid. Avoid Qantas too for Fiji they codeshare and Fiji Airways runs their services.

Drinking water is in short supply. Told we would not be allowed to bring water aboard but little was offered. What was was in 4 oz cups. Not acceptable in this era. Service is sparse. A little too laid back. Same few movies played East and West, though inflight magazine said otherwise. Ran out of movies to watch, selection sparse. Food is s unappetizing.

I Flew FJ business class from Los Angeles to Nadi last month and was quite surprised, From priority checkin, priority security and a lounge shared with other airlines which was brand new the ground service in Los Angeles was very good. Once boarding began Business Class pax had their own line and even their own jetbridge to board the plane. Once onboard headphones, welcome drink, amenity pack, blanket and pillow were all handed out. After take off a 3 course meal was served with salmon and sun dried tomatoes on biscuits for a starter then for the main it was a beef with Fijian greens or a Fish and for desert it was a cake or a cheese platter. After the meal a breakfast card was handed out and you picked the options you wanted for the breakfast. The IFE was an amazing HD screen with plenty of choices. The angle flat bed was comfortable and I managed several hours of sleep. The next morning breakfast was served and then arrival cards handed out and upon arrival Business class pax were let off first and priority tags worked like a charm I would fly with Fiji Airways again any day.

Terrible airline to deal with. Has a consistantly oversold plane. And makes no other option available other than wait (they are currently telling us 15 days wait)The staff have an impossible task of trying to turn away 2040 peole each flight, maintaining a frustrated line of people who will miss appointments and any arrangements at the other end of the flights.Do not concider this airline, ever.

Mixed emotions about Fiji Airways. Left ontime from LAX, but it's a long flight to Nadi, wanted to watch some Movies, but nothing I hadn't seen before, and a very poor selection too: only about 10, but at least on demand Seatback TV on Air Fiji. Same for the TV shows; nothing really new or good. I guess too expensive for the airline

Quick trip from Melbourne to Fiji on the new Fiji Airways all seemed to be OK, with few problems at chekc in with my slightly overweight bag.Good new modern aircraft to Nadi, but the food! Oh dear. A hot chicken wrap for breakfast? Hmmm. Other than that, no problems, and my luggage was waiting by the time I got to the gate.

It's not "Air Fiji" as many people call it - its Fiji Airways, and I fly on it frequently. And you know what, I like it. As a tiny out of the way airline, it does the job and gets you there, in some style now it has new planes!
